This week in science, I learned more about sicknesses and the spread of them. We learned that many kids in a local school district are becoming absent often and in massive quantities. We started hypothesizing and observing all of the given information about the absences and we tried to find patterns in the attendance records. We aren't quite sure yet what is going on in this school, and we are still trying to figure out what is going on.

We also had a quiz on Friday about diseases and what cause them (parasites, bacteria, etc.*)

Lastly we put specific objects in living and non-living categories. We had many debates on which objects go in which category, so we had to make up more categories that we could put these objects in. We came up with dead** and dormant. These groups made putting the objects and their characteristics much easier.

I think this coming week, we are going to be focusing on trying to figure out what is going on at the local school with many absences. (Truman Middle School)

*Talked about in my last posts (for more information)

**We found that dead and nonliving are different. Nonliving means that this thing was never living nor could it have ever lived. Dead means that it was once living but is no longer.
